'Social media companies have let children down'

Tanya Byron, an NSPCC trustee and Times columnist, writes: “Social media companies have let children down because we've let them play by their own rules. What we need now is an independent regulator.” Ministers have drawn up an internet safety strategy and consultation on it closes next week.
